James Johnston RMT

Jamie’s background has revolved around helping people. In 2001 he took an industrial First Aid course in order to work as an industrial first aid attendant. Once he started working in that environment, he was hooked and started volunteering with his local fire department in Campbell River. In 2008, he decided to go back to school to continue with a career in helping people. He enrolled at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy and completed their 3000-hour program in December of 2010. While in school, he pursued his love of sport and started volunteering with the Victoria Grizzlies, and would spend 7 years as a therapist with the team. This led into more opportunities in sport and he spent a year working with our national men’s 7’s rugby team. Then in 2016 he was brought on by Hockey Canada to work in the women’s development program and continues to work with them today. While most of his career has revolved around sport and being a volunteer firefighter, and is now a career firefighter, he was honoured to be named to the board of directors with RMTBC IN 2016.
